Klacto Animations formed in 1981 by Oscar Grillo and Ted Rockley. From its original studio in Mayfair London all those years ago, Klacto quickly established its reputation for innovative design and invention.

One of Klacto's early commissions through BMP's John Webster was the "Kia-Ora" ad, that established a whole new trend and following. As a result Klacto made "Umbongo" for Leo Burnett in 1983, a commercial still shown today. Since then thousands of characters, ads and television indents have been designed and developed for advertising in the UK, USA, Japan, Argentina, and Australia.

Klacto has also animated to Rik Mayall's voice in the hit television series "How to be a little Sod" and produced the title sequence to the BBC sitcom "Dad". The short film "The life of Harmenszoon Van Rijn" evoked the humanity of Rembrandt for BBC TV and brought it to critical acclaim.

Klacto's most recent project is a powerful emotional fantasy based on the last score written by the late Linda McCartney. "Shadow Cycle" produced by Sir Paul McCartney completes a set of four films, including "Wide Prarie" and "Seaside Woman".

Also finished recently is "Monsieur Pett", an animated tragedy about a man who just can't help farting! The poor little man constantly disgraces himself and his unfortunate problem isolates him from society.

And now, even as our greater strength resides in the drawn image we were one of the first animation studios to digitise work instead of shooting film. Now operating from it's studio in West London, Klacto hopes to continue its successes far into the future and the digital age.
